Volume 6: Great Prophecy

Time for one of my favorite arcs! Volume 6 is mostly focused on formally introducing the S-Class heroes and the first half of the alien Dark Matter Thieves' attack on A-City. Seriously, this is one of the high points of the series imo in terms of both storytelling and cool action set-pieces.

Chapter 32

The first difference is a beautiful color page of the Dark Matter Thieves' spacecraft looming over the city. Unfortunately, printing would force this to become black and white in the volume release. Fortunately, it still manages to retain a lot of its beauty.

Chapter 33

There's a set of flipbook pages showing Saitama moving through the craft's maze-like interior. Both versions share a common panel, which is this amazing double-page spread showing a huge map of the spacecraft's insides:

I gotta say, opening a physical copy of this chapter and seeing this image covering two whole pages is really impressive.

So besides that one shared panel, here's the nine-page flipbook that comes afterwards, zooming in on Saitama:

This seems to be the last flipbook animation in all of One-Punch Man - I mean, unless Murata draws some more in the future. It's been years since we've last had one of these, so appreciate it while you can.

The volume version condensed this, as usual. It still did a pretty good job though, what with the motion blur and everything:

Next, the pose when Saitama bursts into Lord Boros' throne room is surprisingly different:

Also, when Saitama realizes Geryuganshoop is a telekinetic, he's in a slightly different pose:

(Btw, Saitama fights Geryuganshoop in Boros' throne room in the manga. I prefer how the anime put their fight in a surveillance room instead, but I digress).

Chapter 34

And to top it all off, there's an extra double-page spread not found in the original release that was added to the volume. I really like it.

That's all for Volume 6. Next up is Volume 7, which had a surprising amount of redraws - but not in the place you might expect them.
